It’s not surprising to us here at Edmond Hyundai to hear that Hyundai Motor Corp. and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) announced a ten-year partnership. After all, we feel that every Hyundai vehicle on our lot, from the 2015 Hyundai Accent to the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe, is a work of art. From the sleek exterior lines, meticulously crafted interior, and options to let each driver’s individual style shine through, Hyundai vehicles are driving masterpieces. The partnership also makes sense because Los Angeles is such a car-based city.

The partnership will highlight Korean art at the LACMA and will also provide support for technology and art programs. Part of that support comes in the form of procuring two contemporary art pieces for the museum. The first piece is called “Light Reignfall” by James Turrell and the second piece is “Miracle Mile” by Robert Irwin.

The first of three main exhibits will be rolled out in three years and will be dedicated to Korean calligraphy. The two following exhibits will be focused on contemporary Korean art and 20th century Korean art. Stephen Little, head and curator of the LACMA Korean art department had this to say: “Korea is a relative newcomer in terms of curatorial expertise in the U.S.”

So if you visit Los Angeles, be sure to check out the Hyundai Partnership with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the upcoming Korean exhibits. In the meantime you can see drivable examples of Korean art by stopping by Edmond Hyundai and checking out our extensive inventory of new and pre-owned Hyundai vehicles. We hope to see you soon!
